Successful finalisation of #Mentor4WBL@EU project – Main Achievements

The Erasmus+ Project with the tittle: “Mentorship Evaluation aNd Training in Organizations for WBL at EU” and acronym: #Mentor4WBL@EU has started on October 2018, in the context of introducing innovation on the continuous professional development of WBL mentors, aiming at building a specific training / assessment/certification procedure for in-company mentors, participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL).
The development of the relevant competences - basic, transversal, soft, digital- leading to the training, assessment and certification for the work-based learning mentors was project’s main objective in order to:
• A full training course for in-company WBL mentors, embedding assessment & recognition of prior knowledge
• An operable ISO 17024 compliant competence certification scheme for workplace mentors
• An e-course for in-company WBL mentors
•An IT platform for remote competence certification of in-company mentors
Now after 28 months of very productive co-operarting work, #Mentor4WBL@EU project has successfully reached the end of its life-cycle resulting in the further development and capacity building of professional mentors via:
Another significant achievement of the project is to increase the ICT capabilities of the institutions and their staff interested to use and run the developed Mentor4WBL@EU e-learning course to help SMEs deliver quality WBL resulting to a more skilled, competent, adaptive and mobile labour force educated to the latest requirements according to the Bruges Communiqué.
More over the certified WBL mentors will be heavily in demand by the industry as they will be considered an asset to their companies. For this reason, #Mentor4WBL@EU project has already been considered as a starting point for developing relevant qualification standards for mentors.
Furthermore, #Mentor4WBL@EU project contributed positively to the recognition and validation of WBL mentor’s non-formal and informal transversal competences by developing a new ISO 17024 compliant certification schemes for these competences.
All the above mentioned #Mentor4WBL@EU project’s outcomes and deliverables will remain available on the project website. Moreover, you can access freely to the e-learning platform in case you are interested to attend the e-learning course for in-company WBL mentors.
In this point we would like to mention that the whole project’s partnership has pledged to continue to work together for the further exploitation and capitalization of the developed project’s results.
Finally, the project’s consortium would like to thank all involved stakeholders and experts for their valuable feedback during project’s implementation.

- the creation of a common culture and philosophy between different countries, on the professional upskilling of in-company mentors
- the evolvement of a common perception on assessment and certification of in-company mentors
